East Rock Shala Studio Policies and Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 1st, 2024
This document outlines the policies and procedures for East Rock Shala LLC, hereinafter referred to as the “Studio.” These policies apply to all students and staff associated with the Studio.
Definitions:
1. Studio: East Rock Shala LLC, a yoga studio offering classes, workshops, and related services.
2. Students: Individuals who participate in classes, workshops, or any other services provided by the Studio.
3. Staff: Employees, contractors, instructors, or any other personnel engaged by the Studio to provide services or support the Studio’s operations.
By engaging with the Studio, either as Client or Student, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the following policies. The following policies apply to all activities associated with the operations of the Studio and interactions that take place within the premises of the Studio. The purpose of these policies is to ensure a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all Students and Staff. The Studio reserves the right to amend these policies at any time.
Summary of Policies
a. Classes
i. The Studio does not require nor employ advanced registration for classes. Students may arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to class start time to reserve a spot.
b. Personal Equipment:
i. Students should bring their own mats and towels.
c. Lobby Conduct:
i. Phones, shoes, and conversations should be kept in the lobby to maintain a quiet and respectful environment in the practice space.
d. Personal Hygiene:
i. In keeping with tradition, Students are requested to shower before practice.
e. Fragrances:
i. Students should avoid wearing strong fragrances or oils during practice to maintain a clean and healthy breathing environment.
f. Leaving Early:
i. If a Student needs to leave class early, they are requested to inform their teacher in advance and allow time to rest before leaving.
g. Late Entry:
i. Entry to a class after the start time is not permitted.
h. Mysore Practice:
i. For Mysore Practice, Students may arrive anytime within the class window, ensuring there is enough time to finish practice and rest before the end of class time.
i. Cashless Transactions:
i. The Studio does not conduct any cash transactions. All payments for classes, packages, merchandise, and memberships must be made through electronic methods.
ii. Accepted forms of payment include credit card, debit card and digital payments through Square.
iii. This policy ensures the security and convenience of financial transactions for both Students and Staff, allowing us to maintain efficient and accurate records.
j. Payments:
i. The Studio does not offer refunds or extensions on class packages, memberships, merchandise, or any other purchases.
ii. All purchases are non-transferable and must be used by the purchasing Student.
iii. For workshops requiring advance registration, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund or 24 hours in advance for studio credit. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to the workshop will not be refunded.
iv. Memberships automatically renew. To cancel, Students must email the Studio at practice@eastrockshala.com requesting cancellation at least one businesses day before the renewal date.
v. Memberships are duration-based and may not be extended regardless of class attendance and changes to Studio schedule.
vi. Memberships provide unlimited access to classes during the membership period.
vii. Private sessions must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Rescheduling or cancelling must be done more than 24 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session will not be refunded.
vii. Classes must be paid for prior to the start of class time. Students may purchase classes through the Studio website or at the Studio premises.
ix. Clients must be over 18 years of age to participate in Studio programming. Children are not permitted to wait in the Studio or lobby while class is in session.
k. Personal Belongings: The Studio is not responsible for personal belongings of any Student or Staff.
l. Safety:
i. The Studio is not responsible for injuries incurred by Students or Staff on or off Studio premises, whether during or outside of class times.
ii. The Studio has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, assault, intimidation or violence of any kind. Any incidents will be reported in accordance with the laws and regulations of the State of Connecticut.
m. Disclaimers:
i. The Studio does not endorse nor is liable for any statements, recommendations, or actions of Staff or Students on or off the Studio premises.
ii. The Studio requires all Students to sign waivers acknowledging these policies.
iii. The Studio reserves the right to amend these policies at any time.
We appreciate the acknowledgment and participation in Studio policies, which serve to maintain a kind, respectful, and safe environment for all Students and Staff. Our collective cooperation with these policies ensures that the Studio remains a welcoming and safe environment for learning for everyone in our community.

AGREEMENT TO TERMS
These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and East Rock Shala LLC ("Company", “we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your access to and use of the East Rock Shala LLC website as well as any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto (collectively, the “Site”). The Site is not tailored to comply with industry-specific regulations (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), etc.), so if your interactions would be subjected to such laws, you may not use this Site. USER REGISTRATION

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
